The console

Add apps, change their settings, see each app's people and storage, export records, delete accounts, manage keys and invite others.

The console is where you manage your apps: console.syncpilled.com, or your own deployment's address.

Apps

  • Overview: how many people use the app, how many were active in the last day, week and month, and how much they store. Counts are refreshed at each person's sign-in.
  • People: everyone with an account in the app, with their counts. Never what they stored.
  • Settings: sign-in, anonymous accounts, the collections devices may push to, and the size limits. Devices see a change within a minute.
  • Export: every person's current records as NDJSON, one record a line, each with its user_id. A single person's export answers their own access request.
  • Deleting an app stops its sync within a minute. Every person's data in it is then erased in the background, in hourly batches, so a large app takes a few hours.

Deleting a person's account

From the person's row in People: their records, past versions and files are erased, and their devices stop syncing, for good. It is what the app's own account deletion does.

Management keys

Make one for the CLI, CI or an agent. A key can do what an admin can, except make or revoke keys. Its token is shown once.

Members

On the hosted version, invite others to manage your apps by email. Roles:

  • Member: sees apps, stats and the people list. Never anyone's records.
  • Admin: also changes apps, exports, deletes accounts, and manages keys and members.
  • Owner: everything, including other owners. Every account keeps one.
